A new exhibit entitled
Into Space is open to the public. The exhibit highlights various aspects
of space travel and contains items on loan from NASA’s Johnson Space
Center, including moon rock replicas and two models of the space
shuttle. NASA’s Space Program has played an important role not only in
the development of science and exploration, but also in the economic
development of the region. With the possibility that the new
international spaceport may be located in Brazoria County, it is even
more important for citizens of the County to have a working knowledge of
America’s Space Program. The exhibit will be on display through April
14, 2002.
Located in the 1897 Brazoria County Courthouse at 100 East Cedar Street
in Angleton, the Museum is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on
Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is closed Sundays and holidays. The
Museum houses five exhibit spaces, an auditorium for programming, the
Museum gift shop and a research library. Admission is free. For more
information, call 979-864-1208.
